A & A Doyle Ltd is an independent, family-owned funeral service owned and operated by Allan and Awdri Doyle in the Scottish Borders town of Galashiels. The company was founded in 2012 by Awdri and Allan, who bring a deeply personal approach to funeral directing. Awdri grew up with funeral director parents in Gorebridge and trained as a funeral director in 2004, while Allan, a Galashiels native, graduated in accountancy and economics before training alongside Awdri to deliver the highest standards of care to every family they serve.
The Galashiels funeral home is located at 10 Bank Street and provides a private, homely space for families to meet with the team, as well as a Chapel of Rest where family and friends can pay their last respects. The premises are fully accessible for those with disabilities, and the team is also happy to visit families in their own homes if preferred.
A & A Doyle Ltd is available day or night and is committed to organising funeral services that truly reflect the wishes of each family. The company is a member of both the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and the Scottish Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), reflecting their dedication to professional standards and compassionate care.
"From our first to our last contact, the professionalism, empathy, care and support was beyond first class — making a very stressful time so much easier."
— Kirsty Simpson (about Awdri, Allan)
"If I could give more than 5 stars I really would. They are incredible, so personal and genuinely care — they are there for you even after, and we as a family cannot thank them enough for everything."
— Arlene Rae-Hewitt
"The professionalism, empathy, care and support was beyond first class and made a very stressful time so much easier. You are a credit to your profession and we will forever be indebted for the fabulous service you provided."
— Kirsty Simpson (about Awdri, Allan)
"We went to A&A Doyels and it was sheer love and devotion from day one — no waiting on hold, no delay in collection, kept informed the whole time. They are truly incredible; people who genuinely care about the people who come into their place."
— Arlene Rae-Hewitt
