This is one of those reviews you never want to write, and yet it's one of the most important. Goddards were the funeral directors for both my Dad and, more recently, my Mum. I was organising everything myself and am disabled, and Goddards made it so much easier. From their gentle voices to the prompt responses to administrative tasks and their care on the day of the funeral, I am deeply grateful. Thank you to Peter, James, Alan, and the team.

Not only have this company handled our families bereavement recently. They have also looked after the family through two others in 2018 and 2019. All who were immediate family. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. The service, support and overall compassion from the start of the process to the end. They go above and beyond to take care of you throughout. Highly recommend! Thank you for looking after everyone and importantly the family we lost. Thank you Alton and Fleet branches.

Lost my grandmother a few weeks ago, met with Goddard among other funeral directors to decide who will plan the funeral. We decided to go with a different director before the following event unfolded. We received a phone call a few days ago informing us that ‘we have the body’. This was not an undertaker from our chosen funeral director, but rather one from Goddard. The company assumed we’d chosen them to plan the funeral and went and retrieved the body of a very close family member without permission or confirmation of their selection and without a death certificate. We are currently having issues with the whereabouts of her body as a result. This titanic blunder is not what you expect from a firm who appear to have such a good track record on this platform, and I would urge potential customers to take these positive reviews with a pinch of salt, and remember the experience this assumption put us through. Disgraceful.

A&W Goddard, Fleet. Excellent company, excellent service & staff. We've just used them for the second time and they really are the best at what they do. Everything is professionally and sensitively handled and nothing is too much trouble. We appreciated the kind, supportive guidance at such a difficult time. From the first telephone contact to the last hand shake after the service at the crematorium, I received advice and options, delivered with sympathy, on every aspect of what needed to be allowed for and arranged, for the funeral service for my wife. Options were given on providers of floral arrangements and the printing of the Order of Service. We wished to view the body on 2 occasions before the service and this was arranged without an issue. Everything handled with sympathy and empathy. Thank you James Small for your assistance advice and caring.
