Attended Funeral

The aim of the Competition and Markets Authority Funeral Markets Order 2021 is to make it easier for customers to access the prices of funeral directors and crematorium operators and to help increase customers’ awareness of the total cost of the services they may require.

These provisions are also intended to help customers to compare the prices and services of different funeral directors and crematorium operators so that they can assess what best suits their needs and budget.

The criteria for the Attended Funeral:

Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements.
Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles of the funeral director’s premises) into the funeral director’s care.
Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities.
Providing a suitable coffin.
Viewing of the deceased person for family and friends, by appointment with the Funeral Director.
Provision of a hearse or other appropriate vehicle to take the deceased person direct to the agreed cemetery or crematorium (normally within 20 miles of the funeral director’s premises) at a date and time agreed between the customer and funeral director.

Bereaved families are looked after by Graham Lusty. Situated on Rownhams Road, our new and modern facilities in North Baddesley includes a peaceful arrangement room, a private chapel of rest, mortuary facilities and sufficient parking for clients.

What is the size of any upfront deposit required?

For our Simple Funeral Service we require disbursements paid in advance of the funeral. For our Direct Cremation Service we require all fees paid in advance of the cremation.

When must I pay the upfront deposit?

The deposit must be paid at least 48 hours in advance of the service.

How long will I have to pay the final balance?

We require payment of our final invoice 4 weeks after sending. We will submit our final invoice 7 days after the funeral date.

What are my options for paying the deposit and final balance?

We will accept cash, cheque, card (visa and mastercard) and bank transge

Will any additional charges apply is I don’t pay the bill on time?

Our final account will include a 10% disbursement administration charge(if not paid in advance). This will be removed if paid ontime.

If I change my mind after engaging you as my funeral director, will you charge me (and if so, how much)?

We will only ever charge for a removal of the deceased to our private chapel (£295), if we have been instructed to do this.
