Andrew Bingham Independent Funeral Service is the only independent, family-run funeral service in Stowmarket, covering Mid Suffolk and beyond. Founded by Andrew Bingham, the business has been rooted in the local community for many years, having moved to its original premises, The Nutshell on Milton Road South, in 2010 — a site with over a century of spiritual history, formerly used as a Salvation Army Hall and Brethren Assembly Hall. Sadly, in September 2024, The Nutshell was catastrophically damaged by fire, and the business has since relocated temporarily to Unit 2 Charles Industrial Estate, Stowmarket, while rebuilding takes place.
The team prides itself on being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with calls personally answered by Andrew, Heidi, or a colleague — never a call centre. Their funeral home offers a comfortable, living room-style arrangement room, a private non-denominational chapel of rest, and free parking. Home visits can also be arranged for families who prefer to make arrangements in their own surroundings.
Andrew Bingham Independent Funeral Service is committed to transparency in pricing and was one of the first in the area to publish funeral costs online. The business is a member of professional bodies including SAIF, NAFD, and BIE, and takes great pride in maintaining the highest standards of care and service for every family they support.
