"He carried out what I wanted in Partick Thistle colours — recruited the best people down to the flowers which had thistles. If anyone asks me who I would recommend, I would proudly say Barry Whalen."
— Margaret Gibson (about Barry)
"My dad had just got out of hospital and was poorly and had to be wheeled into the church which they helped with. It made a very difficult, sad time a bit easier."
— Kathleen Manning
"Special thanks to Paddy Grace who was with us every step of the way. Mum would have loved her send off."
— Janice Mccahill (about Paddy Grace)
"Barry shared some of his own personal experiences of losing loved ones, which added a comforting and personal touch that softened such a difficult occasion. We will be forever grateful for the support and care Barry and the team have given us."
— Steve2020 ayr (about Barry)
"I think it sounds really cheesy but it feels like it's a proper vocation for John/the team - nothing was ever too much trouble. During such a sad and overwhelming time we felt like we had the best guide possible by our side. I'll never forget it."
— Catriona Morrison (about John)
"Even on his days off, he went out of his way to make sure I could collect my dad's ashes — a true testament to the kind of person he is, and how deeply he cares for the families he helps."

Barry Whelan Funeral Directors provided help and support while organising our mum Nettie Reid’s funeral. We cannot thank them enough for the kindness shown during this time. Special thanks to Paddy Grace who was with us every step of the way. We would also like to thank Drew Brady who provided a beautiful service at the crematorium. He was respectful and funny. Mum would have loved her send off.

I cannot recommend Barry enough. My dad recently passed away, and we had the privilege of Barry organising the funeral and cremation. I was dreading having to arrange my dad’s final wishes, but when Barry came to the house, he instantly put us at ease. He was caring and compassionate, and I knew straight away that he was brilliant at his job. Barry shared some of his own personal experiences of losing loved ones, which added a comforting and personal touch that softened such a difficult occasion. We will be forever grateful for the support and care Barry and the team have given us over the last few weeks. Even on his days off, he went out of his way to make sure I could collect my dad’s ashes — a true testament to the kind of person he is, and how deeply he cares for the families he helps

They wete recommended to me from the care home manager and they did my mums funeral. The service was professional abd personal. The staff were caring, respectful and helpful. They were on hand day and night to answer any queries and help. It made a very difficult, sad time a bit easier. On the day my dad had just got out of hospital and was poorly and had to be wheeled into the church which they helped with

Our contact at Barry Whalen was John and we couldn't have had a better experience. He was so kind and professional, he made a difficult time so much easier. I think it sounds really cheesy but it feels like it's a proper vocation for John/the team - nothing was ever too much trouble and anything within John's power to make things easier was always cheerfully offered and sorted quickly. During such a sad and overwhelming time we felt like we had the best guide possible by our side. Thank you so much for your kindness and professionalism, I'll never forget it and would recommend you to anyone who needs compassionate and courteous care.
