C.S. Boswell Independent Funeral Services is a family-owned and managed independent funeral business based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, established in 2014 by founder Carl Boswell. Carl began his career in the funeral profession in 2004 at the age of 14, serving in Oxford and Kidlington, and has since looked after many families throughout Oxfordshire and beyond. Born and raised locally in Kidlington, Carl opened his own independent funeral directors to continue independent traditions within the community.
The Kidlington branch is located at 77 Bicester Road and offers a warm, homely, and relaxed environment with full facilities, a private Chapel of Rest, and free client parking. The team provides a truly personal, non-delegated service 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, guided by the belief that 'For Every Life is Unique, So is Every Funeral.'
Services available include traditional funerals, simple funerals, the C.S. Boswell Farewell Service, direct cremation, children's and babies' funerals, repatriation, cremated remains services, memorial consultancy, dove release, and alternative funeral vehicles. Funeral arrangements can also be made in the privacy of clients' own homes. The company is proud to offer a personal, caring approach that larger organisations cannot match.

It is hard to find the words to express how grateful I am to Boswell’s for their superbly professional and very caring service in organising my late sister’s funeral. They made the whole process so much easier than I had at first feared, the staff were all so kind and understanding, communications were excellent (I live far away from Kidlington), and they made really helpful recommendations for every element. There were some very stressful issues to face in planning the funeral, and at every moment I felt that the staff and director at Boswell’s had my back - which made such a difference. We had a long wait for the funeral, but I felt confident that Boswell’s were treating my sister’s remain with the utmost respect. And on the day of the funeral itself, everything was done so perfectly and beautifully, it was a huge comfort to me that my sister had such a very fitting farewell. She would definitely have approved, and I recommend Boswell’s most highly.
