It is with a heavy heart that I leave this review. The service I received from Dawe Brothers around my father’s funeral itself was excellent — Justin in particular was kind, compassionate, and professional throughout the planning process. Unfortunately, my experience arranging my father’s interment afterwards was the complete opposite. When I was ready to proceed a few months later, I was passed to Mark Randles. What followed was months of chasing, repeated emails and reminders, many of which went unanswered or were met with vague assurances such as “I’m looking into it” or “I’m waiting to hear back.” Despite regular follow-ups, no progress was made. Eventually I complained, at which point Justin — who had thankfully returned to the business — stepped in and resolved everything within a week. Sadly, due to a family crisis, we were unable to proceed at that time and had to put matters on hold. Earlier this year my mother died, and it became essential for us to finally arrange my father’s interment so that I could begin to move on from these losses. My partner contacted Dawe Brothers to do this and again ended up dealing with Mark, who treated her in exactly the same way. This continued for nearly nine months, despite fortnightly follow-ups. When I escalated the matter to management, Laura arranged the interment with a confirmed date in the space of a morning. I struggle to understand how something that took Mark nine months — twice — could be resolved by someone else in a few hours. When questioned, Mark reportedly said “sorry, it slipped my mind,” which is difficult to accept given the volume of correspondence and assurances that he was “waiting to hear back.” The only reason this is not a one-star review is because the work of Justin and Laura has been exemplary. However, repeated neglect, vague responses and apparent forgetfulness around such sensitive arrangements is completely unacceptable. I have received no meaningful explanation or apology, and the contrast in professionalism has been stark. I would strongly urge anyone dealing with bereavement to ensure clear timelines are agreed, or to request to work with someone other than Mark Randles.

This is not a review of their funeral services, but how helpful Mark was in getting a message to a long lost friend (30 year) about the death of her friend, my late wife. Mark fully abided by GDPR but went out of his way to track down a contact and to pass on my message. I thank him greatly for this service. If the customer service he provided me in relation to my ask is anything to go by, I would highly recommend Mark as a service provider.

After losing Mum recently I cannot recommend the Dawe Brothers highly enough, from the start Justin looked after us so well and his attitude towards looking after mum was second to none. Justin made sure that we felt he was there to offer support and advice without being intrusive. The actual day went like clockwork with friends and family all commenting on how lovely the day had been. I can also recommend Martin the Celebrant who managed the actual day with sensitivity and good humour. A real positive input to what was a very difficult day .

At the most difficult time when your loved one passes away you are left helpless as to what to do. Just one phone call to Dawe Brothers and everything was taken care of immediately. There are so many things to be taken care of, many you’ve not even thought of. Justin and everyone at Dawe Brothers acted in the most professional manner with the greatest sympathy for me and my family at a devastating time of our lives. We cannot thank them enough for their services and I would not hesitate in using the company again and whenever I needed any advice on matters it was only a phone call away. Thank you Justin and team for an excellent service.

I cannot recommend Dawe Brothers highly enough, after losing my Dad suddenly the service we received from the first moment was amazing. Everyone was so kind and compassionate, especially Justin who just made the whole difficult experience that little bit easier to cope with. Even seeing my Dad at the chapel of rest was less traumatic as he looked so peaceful and cared for. I honestly from the bottom of my heart thank Justin and the team for not only caring for my Dad, but also my family.
