What is the size of any upfront deposit required?
We do not require a deposit.
How long will I have to pay the final balance?
Payment of the funeral account is due within 14 days of the date on our invoice, unless otherwise agreed by us beforehand (eg: when a DWP application is made). After any payment from external organisations has been received, a statement will be issued to you showing the balance. The outstanding balance is due within 7 days of the date on the statement.
What are my options for paying the deposit and final balance?
Payments can be made by cash, cheque or by bank transfer.
Will any additional charges apply is I don’t pay the bill on time?
In the event that your payment is not made within the agreed time, we reserve the right to charge you interest:
• at the governments statutory rate which is 8% plus the Bank of England base rate;
• calculated (on a daily basis) from the date of our account until payment;
• compounded on the first day of each month;
• before and after any judgment (unless a court orders otherwise).
If I change my mind after engaging you as my funeral director, will you charge me (and if so, how much)?
If we or you terminate your instructions you may, depending on the reasons for termination, be asked to pay a reasonable amount based upon the work carried out up to the time your termination is received, and will include all third-party charges which we have already paid or are committed to on your behalf.
