Attended Funeral

The aim of the Competition and Markets Authority Funeral Markets Order 2021 is to make it easier for customers to access the prices of funeral directors and crematorium operators and to help increase customers’ awareness of the total cost of the services they may require.

These provisions are also intended to help customers to compare the prices and services of different funeral directors and crematorium operators so that they can assess what best suits their needs and budget.

The criteria for the Attended Funeral:

Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements.
Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles of the funeral director’s premises) into the funeral director’s care.
Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities.
Providing a suitable coffin.
Viewing of the deceased person for family and friends, by appointment with the Funeral Director.
Provision of a hearse or other appropriate vehicle to take the deceased person direct to the agreed cemetery or crematorium (normally within 20 miles of the funeral director’s premises) at a date and time agreed between the customer and funeral director.

Nothing is too much trouble and there is no such thing as a 'strange question'.
Our staff are trained to a high standard andTara who is at the branch will arrange the funeral with you and will also be your funeral director on the day.

What is the size of any upfront deposit required?

An on account payment of £2000.00 is required.

When must I pay the upfront deposit?

We require the on account payment before the funeral date unless solicitors are dealing with the finances. The direct funeral of £1750 needs to be paid in full before the funeral.

How long will I have to pay the final balance?

A final account is sent a week after the funeral and you have 30 days to settle the account or just keep us up to date if solicitors/probabate/bank is involved.

What are my options for paying the deposit and final balance?

We accept credit and debit cards, cash, cheque or online payments

Will any additional charges apply is I don’t pay the bill on time?

No charges for late payment but additional charges may be incurred if the account is sent to debt collectors, takes months to settle or has to go to court.

If I change my mind after engaging you as my funeral director, will you charge me (and if so, how much)?

There are no cancellation fees but if any charges have been incurred before we are told of the cancellation, ie removal fees, then these fees will be passed on to the family or the new funeral director.
