H Keeton Funeral Directors is an independent, family-owned funeral business serving the communities of Woodhouse, Handsworth, and Sheffield for well over a century. Established in 1900 by Harry Keeton, the business originally operated as a joiners and builders before taking on coffin making and funeral services. By 1990, the family turned their focus exclusively to funeral directing, building a reputation for compassionate, personalised care across the local area.
The business is currently owned and operated by brother and sister Paul Keeton and Joanne Johnson-Keeton, the great-grandchildren of founder Harry Keeton. The family tradition continues with Laura Keeton, Mark Johnson-Keeton, and Thomas Johnson-Keeton also employed in the business, representing the next generation of the Keeton family's commitment to the community.
H Keeton Funeral Directors recognises that every funeral is unique and works closely with families to arrange a farewell that is fitting and personal. Funerals are conducted in local churches, crematoria, and cemeteries, with strong relationships maintained with local clergy and celebrants. The company is a member of both the National Association of Funeral Directors and the National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors.
"All our dealings with Joanne and Paul ran smoothly from start to finish. We can't thank them enough for taking care of everything regarding Dad's recent funeral."
— Stephen Rhodes (about Joanne and Paul)
"Every aspect of the process was handled with dignity and respect, with absolutely no attempt to upsell when a very simple affair was requested. I felt sure that my mother was in good hands."
— David Green
"Was comforting to know mum was in their caring hands. Thankyou for all the support you gave me and my family and the dignity you gave to our mum."
— Paul Hepplestone
"Drove out of their way to pass dads house. They treated dad with dignity and respect at all times and had dads wishes carried out all the way to the crem."
— Dawn Smith
"They phoned mom numerous times to see if she was ok which is lovely. They put me and my mom at ease knowing they would look after him. I will be eternally grateful for how they looked after my Dad."
— Julie Casson
