Thousands of families in Eastbourne have placed their trust in CPJ Field to help them following the death of a loved one. We are one of the oldest funeral directors in Eastbourne where you will find that we still occupy the site of our original 19th century offices on South Street.
We are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We recently used Haines and Son for the funeral of my late sister. They were extremely kind and compassionate throughout the whole process . They explained everything well, were extremely patient and gave use plenty of time and space for decision making. The funeral was very respectful and they picked an excellent celebrant . I can only recommend them very highly.

Haine & Son were our chosen funeral directors for my late father. They guided us gently through the process and were extremely helpful, courteous and respectful on the day. They showed our family compassion and consideration. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Right from the start with a call made an hour before my Dad passed sat in Starbucks car park Lee was amazing. None of my ramblings fazed him and he was so good at explaining everything - I genuinely had no idea what I was doing! Next stage was a very sad call to collect Dad and this again was seamless and so professionally handled leaving me with no concerns that Dad was in the best hands. The next few weeks were a blur, but Lee and the amazing ladies on the front were beyond helpful and genuinely made you feel like nothing was too much trouble. From the absolute best recommendations for a Celebrant through to everything else they really did make the whole process so much easier on us. On the day we couldn't have asked for more and everyone commented on what an amazing day it was and this was all down to Haine & Son - as a family we cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you all for being so understanding, caring and professional x

From the moment we made contact, we knew we were in caring hands. Losing a loved one is never easy, but the warmth, patience and attention to detail shown by the team made an incredibly difficult time so much more bearable. Every member of staff demonstrated genuine compassion and respect - nothing was ever too much trouble. They took the time to listen, understand our wishes and guide us through every step with quiet professionalism and kindness. The service itself was beautifully arranged, dignified, and deeply personal — a true reflection of our loved one’s life and spirit. We were deeply touched by the care shown not only to our family but to our loved one as well. It’s clear that this isn’t just a job for them; it’s a calling. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Their empathy, organisation and heartfelt service brought us comfort and peace when we needed it most.

We recently used Haine & Son (branch in Eastbourne) and their service was excellent from beginning to the end. The entire team were compassionate, professional, and supportive throughout a very difficult time. Every detail was handled with great care and respect, and they made the whole process as smooth and comforting as possible. We are from an Indian background which means our funeral services are a bit different and they were keen to learn about our traditions, accommodated all our requests and answered any question we had. We’re truly grateful for their kindness and exceptional service we received. Highly recommended. :)
