We cannot thank Haine & Son, Polegate enough for the wonderful service we received when our mother died in Eastbourne, just after Christmas. As her wishes had always been to be buried in London with the funeral service taking place there also our initial concern was of course to get confirmation that this would not be a problem. The staff were wonderful from the outset and throughout. They were always considerate of our needs; guided us through the process and were always patient with us whenever we wanted to change anything. They took care of Mum so well, made sure she was dressed in her own clothes, and had he beloved red shoes with her. We were given sufficient time to say goodbye in a peaceful tranquil space. Rhea travelled up to London with the hearse and ensured that everything went smoothly on the day. Nothing seemed to phase them. We had a wonderful service in London that ran well over the allotted time, but the team remained calm and professional up to the end. Thank you Rhia, Venessa and Paula.

The service we received from the moment my mum went into the care of Haines was outstanding. They completely took over and guided us with our decisions every step of the way, and were always on the end of the phone if we needed anything. All the stress was taken away by their loving care. My mum received the best care possible and we were so thankful for the how they looked after her in preparation for our visit. She looked so peaceful and like she was having the best sleep. The room we were in was so calm and peaceful and everything was explained about how the room was set out before we went in. There was no rush or pressure to the visit, and we could sit comfortably before going in to see my mum, or not go in if we so chose. The actual day of the funeral was perfect. The care and respect shown to my mum was unbelievable, and again we were guided along the way, never rushed and allowed to take things at our own pace. We thank you so much for everything, particularly Jodie, who actually worked her day off to co-ordinate the funeral. She was there whenever we needed her, but completely unobtrusive in our grief. Thanks also to Paula, Vanessa and Rhia, as you too, were involved in other aspects of making the experience as good as it could be. Not forgetting the guys who collected my mum initially, and the drivers on the funeral day, who drove us along the seafront, my mums favourite ride out. You have all been amazing and we, as a family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕 Family of Kitty 18.12.1930 - 25.12.2025 afe 95 years

No words can describe how grateful we are for the genuine care and support Haine & Son gave when helping us organise our daughter's funeral. All the staff were amazing (Paula, Rhia and Vanessa in particular) - Paula was so kind and took her time when talking through the arrangements and made the whole process so much easier than we were expecting. There was never any pressure for us to have anything we didn't want and all our requests were respected. We were always kept up to date with anything which gave us a lot of reassurance in such a hard time. We were able to visit the chapel of rest and spend as much time as we needed with our daughter, which was invaluable. The chapel is calm and the staff can leave you to have time alone, or are more than happy to support if needed. Everything went to plan on the day of the funeral and again, each step was explained to us clearly. We highly recommend Haine & Son and if we are ever in the same position again, we wouldn't hesitate to use them and/or recommend them to others. Thank you again, we are forever grateful for everything at such a difficult time xx

The whole process of arranging my Mothers funeral was made very straight forward. All options were explained to me in detail but in a way that was easily understood by someone who was grieving. Jodie, the funeral director was obviously very experienced, her respect and understanding was clear from my first meeting to the day of the funeral. Her team were immaculately turned out as were the vehicles. After the funeral I had to collect Mum's ashes from the funeral home, I wasn't looking forward to this but Vanessa made the process very easy, she explained about the certificate with the ashes and again like all of the staff, was very respectful and polite.

All the staff at Haines Polegate are caring, compassionate and efficient, and deal with customers with great kindness. And that care does not simply stop on the day of the funeral, but they are 'there' for folk in the difficult weeks and months following the loss of a loved one. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Truly a first class service from a dedicated team- I cannot recommend them highly enough.
