At such a difficult time Helen was there to help every step of the way. Communication between us was great and helped to guide us through a very emotional time.

An excellent and personal service. Due to geography, I had to organise everything on email and phone calls, but Helen and the team always responded with speed and empathy. All details were very well planned. Thank you.

On behalf of my sister Amelia and myself I would just like to extend our truly heartfelt and grateful thanks to you all at J J Burgess & Sons. Like walking into safe the familiar surroundings after recently taking care of our Dad on his final journey we again asked to take care of our Mother on hers too. Everything was taken care of, explained and with a sense of caring and compassion not seen these days.I can not thank you all enough for that little extra that you do without asking to make these final days a painless as is possible given the circumstance. Our experience of having to deal with these two momentous days has been made that so much easier by going to people who we trust.Thank You from the bottom of our heartsCedric and Amelia Barnard.

This company is substantially more expensive than anyone else. We did a price check and they were charging 500 pounds more for a plinth and engraving than other companies. Their bills have 2 administration fees with no description. Clearly back handers to the church, Father Darren at St Lukes is clearly a ponce taking commission for services rendered. What is supposed to be final statement for a loved family member, is just treated by Burgess as an opportunity to scalp the family. Good job there is no afterlife (Heaven) if there is a hell the Burgess ponces will go to it. Sizzle and Burn

No words can really be put into place for a close family loss and at a time when emotions and grief are high and unbearable, however we was completely comforted by the whole team at J J Burgess & Sons. Justin who was always available was exceptional and a true credit to his industry, the great pride and dedication he gives to every attention to detail was of the highest regard. The whole team at J J Burgess was respectful, honest and hardworking to ensure every request made was met. We used Justin and his team for our late grandads funeral in 2004 and we also had the privilege of using Justin for our late grandmothers passing in November 2020 who both had the King & Queen of send offs that they deserved with the four black horses and carriage that elegantly took them to our chosen last resting place.I make no mistake in saying what a fantastic independent family run business Hertfordshire is privileged to have. J J burgess and Sons have excelled themselves and the standards that was set in 2004 have not been amended in anyway and still consistently provide an exceptional service to its community and families like mine who felt at ease with them looking after our loved ones last send off.I cannot recommend any higher and will be forever in their debt for the compassion and delicately way they handled our family loss.Thank you.
