John Grenfell & Son Ltd Funeral Directors is an independent, locally owned family firm that has been serving the community since 1880, formerly trading as D. Davies. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, the business has built a longstanding reputation for compassionate, professional funeral care across Bedlington, Ashington, Blyth, and Morpeth.
The Bedlington branch serves as the company's head office and is a testament to the firm's deep roots in Northumberland. The team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can visit families in their own homes to arrange and advise on all aspects of funeral planning. Their services include cremations, burials, modern embalming, alternative funerals, non-religious funerals, pre-planned funerals, and more.
As one of the few remaining independent family funeral directors in the area, John Grenfell & Son prides itself on high standards of care, attention to detail, and genuine support for bereaved families throughout the process. The firm is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and the British Institute of Funeral Directors, and is an introducer appointed representative of Golden Charter Funeral Plans, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
