Morris Bros (Tavistock) Ltd is a long-established, independent funeral director based at The Old Bedford Foundry, Lakeside, Tavistock, Devon. Founded in 1870, the firm has been serving the people of Tavistock, Yelverton, and all surrounding areas for over 150 years, offering a qualified, professional, and sensitive service. The business is inspected and approved by both the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), and is also a member of Golden Charter.
Simon and Lucie Luke, who live on the premises, are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Simon brings over 25 years of experience as the fifth generation of the Morris Bros family and holds the Certificate in Funeral Practice. Lucie is a Member of the British Institute of Embalmers and personally oversees the care and preparation of loved ones.
The team handles all arrangements on behalf of families, including liaising with hospitals, nursing homes, doctors, coroners, ministers, and non-religious readers, as well as organising order of service booklets, notices, flowers, and wakes. Families are encouraged to spend time with their loved one prior to the funeral, and a written estimate and contract are provided at the earliest stage to help families manage their budget.
