We couldn't have had a better service. From the offset we were treated with such empathy and respect. At such a difficult time they made every effort to meet our needs. Phil is such a genuinely lovely person he couldn't have been more supportive. The funeral was exactly what we asked for. I recommend their services to anyone at this difficult time.

I cannot express how strongly I would recommend against using this undertaker. Once my mum passed the care home rang Scholes and asked them to remove her body and keep her safe until my undertaker from Lancaster could come down to collect her. They did not call me to let me know they had her in their care even though they had been asked to do so. After 2 days I called to find out if she was in fact with them, got an out of hours service who said they didn't know but would send someone to Stamford to check. The out of hours service rang back to say they did have her. Then, my undertaker was booked to come 4 days after the death to collect her. They hadn't done the paperwork. He had to wait a further 2 days and chase on 2 further occasions to make sure this had been done. On collection they tried to charge him an additional £10 for the doctors fuel! My undertaker said this is absolutely not standard practice. When I told the manager of the undertakers that the care home nurse had instructed them to call me to confirm they had my mum he told me his staff had denied this being the case (even though I was present when this happened). He then told me he'd rung the care home and they'd confirmed they did not tell them to ring me and that as far as he was concerned he'd done what he needed to do. He could not confirm who he had spoken to. I called the care home to check if he had called them - the manager said he had not. This was an awful experience at a very distressing time for my family. I would echo the other reviewer's feedback and rating.
