Towneleyside Funeral Home, located at 1 Parliament Street, Burnley, is one of the branches of Alderson & Horan, a family-run funeral business established in 2004 by brothers-in-law Stephen Alderson and John Horan. With over 40 years of combined experience in the funeral industry, Stephen and John founded the company after feeling that a larger corporate takeover of their previous employer compromised the personal service that grieving families truly deserve.
The team at Alderson & Horan prides itself on a warm, heartfelt approach, with a close-knit team of nine regular staff members — five of whom are direct family and four extended family members. This family ethos runs through everything they do, ensuring that each family they support feels respected, cared for, and in safe hands during one of life's most difficult moments.
The branch offers a full range of funeral services including attended and unattended funerals, pre-paid funeral plans, repatriation, Victorian horse-drawn carriage hearse, limousines, coffins, floral tributes, headstones, memorials, and urns and caskets. Alderson & Horan are members of both NAFD and SAIF, reflecting their commitment to the highest professional standards.
