Turner & Wilson (Whitwell) Ltd is an independent, family-run funeral director based at 94 Welbeck Street, Whitwell, near Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The business was established in 1970 when Nigel Turner's father, Ray Turner, and his business partner Brian Wilson acquired it from William Staples, for whom they had both worked since the age of 15. The firm has deep roots in the local community and has been serving families in Whitwell, Worksop, Sheffield, and the surrounding areas for decades.
Today, the business is run by Nigel Turner and his business partner Christopher Walters. Nigel grew up helping his father and has an lifelong connection to the funeral profession. The business operates from Nigel's home in Whitwell and includes a private Chapel of Rest to the rear of the property. Nigel and Christopher are known for their strong family values and genuine sense of service to the village and wider community, including sponsoring local cricket and bowls clubs.
Turner & Wilson offers a comprehensive range of funeral services, including pre-paid funeral plans through Golden Charter, stone memorials, ashes jewellery, and a selection of coffins and caskets. They provide a 24-hour service and are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD), and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF).
