WH Putnam was founded in Edgeware in 1929 by William Henry Putnam. His grandchildren, Keith and Alana Putnam worked in the business for more than 40 years. In 1950, a second funeral home was opened in Streathfield Road, Stanmore, Harrow, where Keith and Alana grew up living above the premises.

We conducted a long distance set of funeral arrangements in an area we don’t know so the local guidance received from Lee and Sophie in addition to their compassionate professional service was great appreciated.

I wish to express my appreciation of the kindness and efficiency I received from WH Putnam. In particular, Sophie gently steared me through the whole procedure of arranging a funeral without any fuss or pressure. Thank you.

What a real shame. Both mum, dad and brother in law had previously been cared for during their funerals with Putnams a few years ago and a fantastic service and so caring and considerate. For this recent experience for my brother, completely different and won't be back again or recommending them to anyone. To just pick out 3 key points. 1-huge change in pricing model, with no detailed understanding of why and far more deposit up front than before, 2-couldn't organise the initial call efffectivly after we'd agreed what would be appropriate and 3-most crucially arrived 25 minutes later than agreed to pick us up at my parents neighbours house. 1st they change the time the day before so we needed to be there 15 minutes earlier(100 mile journey), then we had to ring them twice to ask where they were. We eventually got to the crem. on time, however that is not the point. If there is 1 service you need to deliver on the day of a funeral its being on time and being sensitive to the feelings of the family. Again, a real shame, we won't be engaging again.

Cassie and Lee did an AMAZING job for my Dad and the family. Very compassionate and understanding. The professionalism of this branch is exeptional and Cassie was with us every step of the way making sure all little details are in place. Lee has shown us massive support and respect before and during the funeral. Big thanks from the bottom of our hearts to the both of you .

Professional, helpful, responsive.Lee & Cassie in particular were very supportive of the whole process, talked through various options for the funeral. They were empathetic & compassionate. The staff who assisted on the day of the funeral were exemplary. Would recommend.
