Walter C. Parson Funeral Directors is a family business established in 1842 at Stoke Climsland, Cornwall. It has, either by inheritance or acquisition, remained in the family over seven generations.
We strive to deliver a first class service, one which would only be acceptable to a member of our own family.
"Their whole ethos was about caring and respect - James guided me through all the necessary arrangements at this very sad, emotionally draining time, and yet miraculously he quietly managed to keep my spirits up throughout."
— Dee Hamilton (about James)
"This information meant that we didn't feel entirely clueless at a very difficult time emotionally and when we would be expecting to spend £1,000's on a funeral. They provided emotional and practical support throughout."
— ann coals (about Darren)
"Special thanks to Darren who organised the funeral and thanks to all the staff at Parsons for being so professional and respectful. Thank you so much for looking after my Mum Hazel Mardon."
— Chris Scrace (about Darren)
"He made the day easier to bear with his compassion, attention to detail and very professional manner in which the funeral was carried out."
— Mike Stevens (about James)
"I couldn't have wished for a kinder or more understanding funeral director than James - he was fabulous and so helpful, efficiently dealing with and gently guiding me through all the necessary arrangements at this very sad, emotionally draining time, and yet miraculously he quietly managed to keep my spirits up throughout - nothing was too much trouble."
— Dee Hamilton (about James)
"Jo was so kind, understanding and caring and was always there for me to answer questions and guide me through details. They carried out the wishes of myself and my grandson after my daughter tragically died and their whole ethos was about caring and respect, even the jewellery returned to us was packaged in suitable boxes and pouches."
— Sally Jones (about Jo)

Outstanding Service from Jo Turpin at Walter C. Parsons, Topsham Road, Exeter. We would like to take this opportunity to praise Jo Turpin for the exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism she demonstrated while looking after our beloved relative, Catherine Pink, who passed away in December. Jo went above and beyond in every aspect of her role, ensuring that Catherine was treated with the utmost dignity and that our family felt supported throughout the entire process. Her attention to detail, warmth, and dedication far exceeded our expectations, making a very difficult time a little easier to bear. On the day of Catherine’s funeral, Jo was there to guide and support us, and her presence was invaluable. The respect she showed to Catherine, as well as the way she led her team, was truly commendable. One particularly touching gesture was the addition of pink ties worn by the team and pink ribbons on the hearse door handles—something Jo had thoughtfully arranged beforehand. It was a beautiful tribute and a testament to the care she puts into her work. We feel that Jo deserves recognition for the incredible service she provides and for the way she represents Walter C. Parsons. Her dedication and professionalism reflect so positively on the company, and we cannot thank her enough for all she has done for our family. We would highly recommend Jo and the team at Walter C. Parsons to anyone in need of compassionate and dignified funeral services. Thank you. Mike Vinnicombe

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Jo Turpin at the Topsham Road, Exeter Branch, was truly outstanding from start to finish. She carefully and thoughtfully arranged the funeral of my husband, John Holman. She comforted us right from the first phone call and especially when I visited the chapel of rest. Her efficiency in organising the funeral was second to none. The day was beautiful and everything ran smoothly, thanks to the hard work Jo had put in. She's a credit to the profession and my family and I can't thank her enough. Thank you. Pam Holman and family

We would like to thank W Parsons especially James who arranged the funeral for Bradley. He made the day easier to bear with his compassion, attention to detail and very professional manner in which the funeral was carried out. We would recommend W Parsons to anyone looking for an excellent funeral director. Thank you once again Valerie Loughman & Tina Stevens
