What is the size of any upfront deposit required?
The larger of 50% of total services, or third party charges.
When must I pay the upfront deposit?
Not less than 5 days before the funeral.
How long will I have to pay the final balance?
The account becomes due 14 days after the invoice date, which is usually a day or so after the funeral date.
What are my options for paying the deposit and final balance?
Cash, cheque, credit or debit card or by electronic transfer (preferred).
Will any additional charges apply is I don’t pay the bill on time?
If the account is not settled 28 days after the due date Welham Jones reserves the right to charge interest both before and after any judgement on the balance at the rate of 8% per annum in accordance with s.69 of the County Court Act 1984.
If I change my mind after engaging you as my funeral director, will you charge me (and if so, how much)?
The Client has a right to cancel their contract without giving any reason within 14 days of entering into it save that, if the services have been fully performed, i.e., completed, this Contract cannot be cancelled. Any monies paid toward that contract will be reimbursed in full save the cost of any that have been completed before notice of cancellation was given.
