Contact a funeral director After a Death | Funeral Directory
2 Step 2 of 18

Contact a funeral director

Within the first few days

A funeral director can guide you through the practical arrangements and take care of bringing the person into their care. You do not need to make all the decisions straight away.

Most families contact a funeral director within the first day or two. The funeral director will collect the person and look after them until the funeral.

You do not need to decide on the type of funeral, flowers, or other details right away. A good funeral director will give you time and not rush you into decisions.

If you are not sure where to start, you can search for funeral directors in your area who have been reviewed by other families.

What you will need

  • The location where the person died
  • An idea of the area you would like the funeral to take place
A phone call takes 10-15 minutes

Take your time. There is no rush to make decisions about the funeral itself.
