E Gill & Sons Funeral Directors has been serving the Newark community and surrounding district since 1915, with roots stretching back even further to a firm of joiners and undertakers in the mid-eighteen hundreds. The business was passed to Edwin Gill in 1915 and has remained a family affair ever since, now spanning five generations of the Gill family. Fourth generation members David and Simon serve as Business Principals, while fifth generation Ian and Nick have recently joined the team, ensuring continuity of the family's long-standing commitment to quality care.
In 2023, E Gill & Sons became part of Funeral Partners Ltd, allowing the firm to combine its deep local heritage with the support and resources of a larger network. Their Newark premises on Albert Street include a private chapel of rest and two interview offices, which were opened in 1979 and extensively upgraded in 1990 to better meet the needs of bereaved families.
The team offers a comprehensive range of funeral services, including cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremations, and repatriation. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can visit families at home to discuss arrangements. Their dedication to compassionate, professional, and tailored funerals has earned them consistently excellent reviews from the local community.
