Not all Funeral Directors are equal! Katrina, and the team at Holmes and Family, in Aldershot, have been absolutely first class in every aspect. It's a huge step to walk in to a Funeral Directors .... it makes your loss real, perhaps for the first time. You are often in unfamiliar territory and have so many questions. We knew, before we'd even left their office on that first visit, that it would be Holmes and Family for us. A unanimous decision. We met Katrina who would be coordinating and arranging the funeral for us. She was warm, approachable and welcoming, and it made a huge difference to us at this difficult time. Everything was explained clearly, including processes, timescales and pricing. Not for one second did we feel pushed, hurried or coerced into making any decisions that were not for us. Thereafter every query or question that we had, was answered quickly and fully. We had absolute confidence throughout the entire process. Katrina even went out of her way to make one element of the process happen .... a compassionate action, and a kindness that will never be forgotten. The funeral itself, was exactly what we and our loved one, would have wanted. In fact, it surpassed our expectation. You generally do not want to be worrying or thinking about anything else on the day of the funeral. You are focussed on your loved one, and Oliver the Conductor and his team, allowed us to do just that. They arrived on time, they were organised and they were totally respectful. Their presentation and teamwork was absolutely immaculate. Every aspect of the day was explained clearly, and not for one second were we left unsure of what was supposed to be happening next. Even down to the little details, which meant so very much .... The walking in front of the Hearse, the final bow at the end of the service and the fact that one of the team even collected extra Orders of Service for us, in case we needed them. No one was left in any doubt that this was a Professional team. Most importantly though, Oliver and his team were kind and patient. Katrina and the whole team at Holmes and family in Aldershot, have been incredible. They have guided us through this very sad and difficult time with compassion and understanding. We felt seen, and we knew that our loved one was in very safe hands. Not all Funeral Directors are equal .... Holmes and Family, Aldershot, in our experience, there is no comparison.

I used Holmes for my father's funeral on the 7th February. Highly recommend the company. Felt totally at ease from the initial meeting right up until the day of the funeral. Professional but caring. Everything was explained in detail and nothing was too much trouble. No pressure to have anything but what we wanted. Helpful and honest advice was given. On the actual day it ran like clockwork. Was a beautiful service and we were treated with respect and kindness. Would not hesistate to use them again.

From our first meeting with Sharon who was sympathetic & explained everything fully, she sorted most things taking the pressure off ,keeping us informed with everything & responding quickly with queries. She also made sure all music was the correct version to be played . Oliver and his team were amazing ,Oliver rang the day before to explain how the day would progress, checking timings & making sure we were all OK with the arrangements. On the day of the funeral Oliver & his team were professionall & respectful ,assisting us & kept the day running smoothly. We had a lot of the mourners telling us how smart they all were.
