Humphris Funerals has been serving the local communities of Banbury, Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas for over 140 years, having been established in 1880. The business was founded by Joseph Humphris, who began working as a carpenter, joiner and undertaker from his front room at 74 Broughton Road. After several generations of family stewardship, the firm moved to its current location on Albert Street, Banbury — a site that was previously used as a brewery. Matthew Humphris, representing the fifth generation of the Humphris family, took over the business in 2010 and continues to uphold the firm's long-standing tradition of care and professionalism.
Operating from their funeral home at 32 Albert Street, the dedicated team at Humphris Funerals is committed to creating tailored funerals that reflect the unique life of each loved one. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by telephone, and are happy to visit families at home to discuss funeral arrangements. Services offered include cremations, burials, green and woodland funerals, unattended cremation, repatriation, memorial masonry, floral tributes, and prepaid funeral plans. As part of Funeral Partners Limited, Humphris Funerals combines the warmth of a long-established family firm with the support of a wider professional network.

"We cannot thank the team enough for the care, compassion, and professionalism they showed throughout the arrangements for Dan's funeral. From our very first meeting with Diane, who was absolutely amazing, she guided us through every step with kindness, patience, and understanding, making an incredibly difficult time that little bit easier to bear. Everything was handled with dignity and respect, and the service was carried out exactly as we had hoped. Their attention to detail and genuine support meant so much to our family. We are truly grateful for everything they did and would highly recommend them to anyone needing funeral services. Thank you for helping us give Dan the send-off he deserved." Lisa Hill

Humphris Funerals were an excellent choice for my mother's funeral. Simon Collier was very kind and considerate; he is also interested in people and has a warm but unassuming manner. I also liked the fact that the same company were used by my family for my grandmother's funeral. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately we lost both our parents recently in the space of 7 months. Humphris is a compassionate, sensitive funeral directors with lovely staff who guided me through the organisation of their funerals with care and efficiency. Our family felt well informed at every stage with sympathetic advice and care given on each occasion. We felt well looked after and everything went smoothly and if there were any hitches Humphris stepped in discretely and sorted it without any stress to ourselves. All in all an excellent service and I would happily recommend Humphris to anyone in need of a funeral directors.

After the passing of my daughter Annmarie, we, as a Family were treated with the utmost respect and kindness from Humphris Funeral Home. Simon, with his gentle, reassuring tone of voice helped us through this very sad time in our lives. Nikki, who had just started to work with Humphris a few weeks earlier was also just an Amazing young Lady. Being a personal family friend who used to play with my daughter as a child made sure that Annmarie did not make that last journey to the Creamatorian on her own. Humphries Funeral home could have said no to her request, but they didn't. And for that I am truly grateful. The total respect, caring, sympathetic way they treat families is just amazing. I love the little touch that are in the foyer in the viewing rooms so that family members can write heartfelt messages on little wooden hearts to tuck in beside their loved ones so that they can take those messages with them. THANK YOU is just not enough!

We found the team to be friendly, helpful and respectful at all times. Diane was available with support and information whenever I reached out to her, always in a professional and empathetic manner. Lorraine conducted the service with respect and discretion, ensuring that all aspects were both dignified and comfortable for the mourners. We thought the Order of Service were beautifully presented and were very pleased with the onsite chapel for the service.
