John Davies and Sons Funeral Directors is a fourth-generation family-run business founded in the early 1900s, serving the communities of Treharris, Nelson, Bedlinog, Gelligaer, Hengoed, Abercynon, Merthyr Vale and all surrounding areas. The business is owned and operated by the founder's grandson, John Davies, and his daughter, Laura Davies, bringing a deeply personal and compassionate approach to funeral care that has been passed down through generations.
Originally operating as undertakers, coach builders, and carrying out building repairs, the business has evolved over the decades to focus exclusively on funeral directing and memorial masonry. Throughout this evolution, the company has remained committed to providing a thoughtful, high-quality, and reasonably priced service to the local community.
The Nelson branch is located at the Nelson Business Centre, 20-22 Commercial Street, Nelson, and is part of a network of premises that includes a Chapel of Rest, a Salem Chapel in Nelson, and an office in Gelligaer. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support and guidance during difficult times.
