The worst. We rented our property in Marshfield uusing them as agents. OK we received our rent as landlords. Over 4 years, a total of 2 photographs of our property ( taken by the tenant ?). Tenant left to arrange repairs. No proper reports of the condition of our property. Obstructive when trying to transfer to a different letting agent. Tried to charge us " leaving fees " that where made up, and not part of our agreement with them. As a contrast we have a second property we let in Dorchester, the agents there send us six monthly reports etc etc. Avoid avoid avoid.

Would not recommend, see below: - Issue 1 : On Friday we requested a viewing for a new property which had just been listed. We were informed the earliest day we could view the property would be the Monday, however, got a call Monday am telling me the property had an offer accepted on Saturday... - Issue 2 : Was assured if the property was fall through then we would be contacted...property sale fell through 4-6 weeks later and was relisted however, no-one contacted us. - Issue 3 : After being relisted I called the agent to get a viewing booked asap which was Friday afternoon. Was informed by the sales agent we should submit our offer on Monday, however, we decided to offer late Friday evening as we loved the property. Only to be called Saturday morning to be told an offer had been accepted on late Friday.... I'm not sure what the issue with the company is but taking a step back it seems if you don't "look the part" or you are from a certain background which doesn't fit the area there is no chance you will buy a property from this agent despite if you bid higher... as apparently it's not about the money? - Lack of professionalism. - Unable to keep simple commitments - Give misleading information with no accountability. Truly disappointed with the service. Having bought multiple properties from different agents over the years we've never experienced this before. Will not recommend to family or friends (despite even if they "fit the criteria.")

I purchased a number of auction lots from Smiths recently and every part of that transaction has been superb. Their communication and professionalism has been first class and my items arrived very quickly and in super condition. Very well packed. I can highly recommend this auction house and if all auction houses were as good, my life would be a lot easier. Many thanks and well done.

I rented a property through Smiths of Newent December 2016. We moved out in May this year. I have to say that Sally was excellent any issues we had where dealt with promptly. Great communication we enjoyed our stay in Newent before returning to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
